Beware of Unsolicited Free Inspections
Paradise Home Services sent an air conditioner tech, Ata, to my home. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. He listened closely to what I had to say. He cleared the drain line and rewired the overflow sensor so it would also cut off the inside air conditioner and not just the outside compressor. He looked at my circuit breakers for the AC outside and on the machine and explained they were OK and why. I had a free inspection from another company that told me they needed replacing for $475. They had also quoted me another service for over $2,000, which he told was about $600 and not needed at this time. I am so glad I decided to call a local small company with many excellent reviews for a second opinion. Beware of unsolicited free inspections which are really just trying to sell expensive unnecessary services.

I had an unusual problem when I called Paradise Home Services. Our HVAC compressor was popping the house breaker about every 10 or 20 minutes. This came out of nowhere and I reset the breaker about 10 times the day before. Ian came out first thing in the morning and checked all the voltages and then the current draw on a number of circuits. He found one loose ground which he repaired and cleaned up the disconnect. Not satisfied, he pulled out an infrared camera and checked the HVAC system for hot spots. Finding none, he checked the 50 amp circuit breaker. The breaker was showing white (very hot) compared with the rest of the breakers which were reddish despite the outdoor morning temp being relatively cool. I told him I would change the breaker; but I would never have thought a breaker would go bad without Ian's extensive troubleshooting. My thanks to him and his team for being so responsive and thorough.

We called on a Saturday at 2 p.m. expecting to have to pay after hours, but thankfully they had one open spot in our area and we got our AC cooling within a couple hours of the call!
